Mallory Sohmer, Producer & Video Director
Mallory is a practical, business savvy producer and director with a versatile background spanning the commercial, corporate, live event, television and film worlds. She balances a keen eye for detail with a big picture perspective. She has produced work for Samsung, Turtle Wax, HBO, United, Big Lots, Hanes, Dell, and more. Known as a strong storyteller, she’s directed many documentaries, case studies, profiles and behind the scenes videos for her clients. She has also been actively involved in new business pitches that have attracted major accounts to the companies she works with. As well, she is an enthusiastic independent filmmaker who loves to travel and laugh while on the job.
Pep Rosenfeld, Director of Creative Content & Programs
Pep is Boom Chicago’s co-founder and creative multi-tasker: Writer, performer, director, trainer, stand-up comedian, public speaker, host, facilitator and developer of new corporate programs. His passion is making people laugh in just about any situation – even those that are stressful or traumatic – as featured In his 2012 TED talk, Fight, Flight or Make Your Opponent Laugh. Now, he uses comedy and improvisation to help brands get through the trauma and stress of crafting and communicating their internal and external messages and making them stick. Pep loves comedy about current events and politics, as proven by his writing on America’s long-running television show, Saturday Night Live, which was nominated for an Emmy. Pep hosts, to rave reviews, events like TEDx Amsterdam, The Next Web Conference, and the Spin Awards. Pep frequently connects with audiences due to a shared love of gadgets and his smart, sympathetic demeanor.
Andrew Moskos, Director of Strategy & Innovation
Andrew Moskos comes up with big new ideas. He is a a co-founder, former cast member and director for some of Boom Chicago’s political productions. He creates and facilitates high-level business programs for global multinationals like Oracle, EY, Heineken and Philips to help implement their strategy with humor and develop innovative and creative mindsets within the organization. He also is the creative force behind Boom Chicago’s escape rooms, haunted houses and other interactive productions. He co-developed The Future of Your Organization, a tailored interactive business presentation he customized and performed for more than a 100 companies across the globe.
Saskia Maas, CEO
Saskia is responsible for business development, production of global corporate programs, strategy, finance, sales and public relations. Saskia has a Masters degree in linguistics from Tilburg University and completed Nyenrode’s prestigious one-year Executive Management Development Program. She recently finished the 18 month leadership program at THNK, the school of Creative Leadership.
Saskia is also one of the founders of Inter-Acting, teaching children with autism social understanding and skills through improvisation. Inspired by her youngest son, she led a pilot program for the Hogeschool Fontys in Eindhoven to help autistic students break out of their patterns and routines to embrace the unexpected with improvisation. Sue Gillan, Chief Creative Officer
Sue Gillan began her career with Boom Chicago back in the 1990s and returned in 2015 as Chief Creative Officer. New kids on the Gracht is her first production in this new role. After ten years as an improviser, writer and director, Sue began leading teams of non-traditional creatives for advertising and marketing agencies creating dozens of campaigns for brands like Samsung, Facebook and Yum! Brand’s KFC and Taco Bell. Her improvisation-based approach to creativity, innovation and teamwork has resulted in keynote opportunities at such industry events as Fast Company Magazine’s Innovation Summit, Voice of the Brand, and AdWeek in NYC,
Sue developed Boom Chicago’s trademark Improv-Based Creative Session, an innovative and unique tool that uses improvisation to brainstorm and develop an abundance of ideas.
